Facade

The IRENEE is the unique research laboratory in public law and political science which is part of the University of Lorraine. It has followed the tradition in well-known university research centers since it was created in 1997.

It is focused on studying everything around the notion of State as exhaustively as possible. It develops its means in Metz and Nancy around 3 axes : citizenship, the mutation of institutions and organizations, the evolution of the jurisdictional function in the contemporary state of law.

Its scientific influence, strengthened by institutional congresses that renowned associations - Association française de Droit administratif, Association française de Droit constitutionnel, Société française pour le droit international - bring, relies on how dynamic its 50 researchers and 70 doctorate students are.

The laboratory has its own journal called « Civitas Europa »,  distributed in a digital way, which enables it to have countless readers.

The IRENEE relies on a high-quality publication policy according to the HCERES (evaluation body). Its attractiveness is indeed confirmed in the 2017 evaluation report by the Haut Conseil which highlighted the fact that the IRENEE reached a high national visibility a long time ago.

Its research which covers all public law is strongly supported by experts in these fields
